Two stories regarding Obama and Facebook hit the news recently.

During a Q&A with a group of young teenagers, Barack Obama advised students to be careful and sensible about the information that they display on Facebook. He acknowledged that to err was human (especially when in your teen years) but to air those lapses in judgement on social media platforms should be considered a severe career limiting move as opposed to a simple life lesson.
“Well, let me give you some very practical tips. First of all, I want everybody here to be careful about what you post on Facebook, because in the YouTube age, whatever you do, it will be pulled up again later somewhere in your life,” Obama said.
Obama acknowledged that he himself made a few blunders in his youth. Like many of us, Obama is probably very thankful that social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and MySpace did not exist when we were teenagers.
